My Story

I’m Julie Whelan. Spending time outdoors with my camera is my obsession. This website is the result of that.

Background

As a child, I spent my winters giving my Mom grey hair playing body contact hockey, my spring on every soccer, track, baseball, or volleyball team I could find, my summers traveling Canada and the northern States with my family, and the fall playing in the leaves. I was outside most of the time and when I was eight, I began to document my adventures. I’ve been lucky to always know what I wanted to be when I grew up so when it was time to go off to college, I took Creative Photography at Humber College in Toronto. My dream was becoming a reality.

The Business

So became Julie Whelan Photography: an on location, action, sport, fitness, & outdoor photography business providing high quality images to tireless athletes and adventurers.

I’ve been fortunate enough to have my photography take me all over the globe. Some of my adventures include Africa, South East Asia, Australia, New Zealand, the South Pacific Islands, the U.K., Europe, South America, the United States, and of course, Canada.
